This week’s Mind the Gap: How do you prefer to read, with an eReader like a Kindle or Nook, or with an old school paperback in hand?
I had to vote for the paperback book versus the ebook simply because I have not read an ebook yet. It’s not that I don’t want to, I just haven’t pursued an ebook yet. My mentality for reading books is equivalent to being in the dinosaur age, it just doesn’t occur to me to read an ebook. I have always loved going to the library – I’m like a kid in the candy store there, all those books I can put in my bag and take home – for free! I get home and unpack my bag of books and dig in. Next to me, my husband will be reading his ebook on his iPad and or on his Kindle and I’m reminded of how many things are changing during my lifetime. I don’t say that with regret because I really am glad we are saving trees and helping preserve the forests as long as we possibly can.
With all that said, I would have to say that I’m in no rush to start reading ebooks and will probably always feel nostalgic for an old school paperback.

Me either! As much as I love all the modern technology, it just hasn’t happened! Now we even have a Samsung Tablet here, so I could, but it still hasn’t occurred to me … I go to the library — in fact I’m going there today, before the storm sets in. Speaking of the library … they now have eBooks for download.
On my last trip back home to Sweden, last Fall, I tried reading on the iPhone, but I got fed up reading on that little screen. Didn’t have any tablet then.
Did you get some good books at my favorite place, the library? . I lol’d when you said they have ebooks there now 😃
I got a kindle for Christmas, and love it. It does take a bit of getting used to though, as I keep trying to turn the pages.
Lol. I bet that happens a lot. I’ll have to give it a try just to experience it 😊
